Second visit to Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Scotland, UK, in a few weeks.
This time, I asked the locals for the best chippy and all of the locals told me to go to this place. Fish had a very crispy and light batter while chips were cut nicely; both were hot and had just been made. For 7.5 pounds, a great meal. They accept cash ( pounds, Euros and dollars）but no credit cards. Though this is a "take out", they also have a few tables and waitress service. The sit down portion is through the saloon style doors on the left.
In summary, this place is one of the best chippy's I have been to anywhere!

We were recommended to try this place out by the locals as we were shopping in Lerwick. Fort Cafe was a bargain and absolutely delicious. Quintessential fish and chips perfection. You can eat inside the little restaurant or you can take some fish and chips to go and eat at a park nearby. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful.
